OVERVIEW:  Fairfield Academy Inc. was founded in 1984 to provide children with a genuine opportunity to benefit from a strong and productive academic situation. The Academy has high expectations for her students – expectations that the children meet with eagerness and delight. It is a busy place where hard work is not to be avoided, because hard work and effort lead to success and self-confidence, and these in turn lead to a future bright with unlimited possibilities.

Among the daily academic tasks are to be found many opportunities for fun and enjoyment including field trips, organized play and sports, hands on activities and special projects. By combining work and fun, effort and results, the Academy is able to provide a uniquely productive educational arena for the new millennium…the positive effects of which will be seen far beyond the elementary and middle school years.

OUR SCHOOL:  Fairfield Academy Inc. is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education Board of Private Academic Schools. The Academy offers Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 through 8. It is a private, non-profit organization and is not affiliated with any other organization. The major emphasis of the Academy are academic achievement and preparation for future academic challenges. 

The Academy is a Core Knowledge school.  The Core Knowledge Curriculum provides strong instruction in the areas of Literature, Science, History, Geography, Music and Art.  Phonics, Reading and Mathematics begin early in kindergarten and are emphasized throughout a child's stay.   Class work in Spanish Language and Computers is also included.  Field trips, playtime, and special events are also important parts of the Fairfield Academy experience.  

Teachers at the Academy are selected on the basis of ability, attitude, and their commitment to children.  They return each year by invitation based on the previous year's performance.  There is no tenure.  Class sizes at the Academy range from 8 to 18 per class.  Currently, the average class size is 12 students per class.  The behavioral system at the Academy is positive in nature.  Serious behavior problems seldom occur. 

Fairfield Academy Inc. offers a 10,000 square foot facility located on three rural acres just east of Montoursville in Fairfield Township. The site includes ample play space, sports fields and a child care center.
