CURRICULUM: The curriculum at Fairfield Academy Inc. is college preparatory with a major emphasis on the basics - reading, mathematics, science, and social studies. Many schools argue that nursery school and kindergarten are for socialization, not education. At Fairfield Academy, we believe that the two are not exclusive - we offer both education and socialization. Students learn phonics, reading, and basic mathematical operations (counting, addition, subtraction, money and time) in kindergarten, and they build on this foundation in subsequent years. Most children are working above grade level through the elementary and middle school years and are ready for advanced course work when they reach high school.

The Academy is a Core Knowledge school and incorporates the Core Knowledge Curriculum, What Every Fifth Grader [etc.] Should Know by E.D. Hirsch, into each applicable content area. The Core Knowledge Curriculum provides strong instruction in the areas of Literature, Science, History, Geography, Music, and Art. Class work in Spanish Language and Computers is also included. We believe the Core Knowledge Sequence offers the best possible content guide for the elementary grades and that our elementary/middle school curriculum is the strongest in Central Pennsylvania.
